Post-doctoral study grants
Through its postdoctoral fellowships, the Fondation Fyssen supports early-career researchers seeking to further their work after completing their doctoral degree.
These fellowships are open to researchers conducting studies in the disciplines central to the Foundation’s scientific focus, including ethology, psychology, paleontology, archaeology, social anthropology, and neurobiology.
The program aims to encourage innovative projects and promote scientific mobility.
Research Grants
The Fyssen Foundation’s research grants support established researchers in developing innovative projects and leading their own teams.
These grants fund independent, well-organized projects that make a significant contribution to the Foundation’s core disciplines.
International prize
Since 1980, the Fyssen Foundation has annually awarded its International Prize to a scientist whose research is distinguished by both excellence and impact in the disciplines supported by the Foundation: ethology, psychology, cognitive neuroscience, anthropology, ethnology, human paleontology, and archaeology.
This prestigious award is granted upon nomination by a recognized scientific authority and seeks to highlight innovative research that makes a significant contribution to the advancement of knowledge.
Colloquiums
The International Colloquiums are organized and funded by the Fyssen Foundation, under the authority of its Scientific Council.
They bring together around thirty French and international researchers for four days to discuss topics aligned with the Foundation’s objectives.
The proceedings of these colloquiums result in the publication of a book.
The Foundation has thus funded 13 international colloquiums.
The themes of these colloquiums, the participants, and the published volumes can be consulted under the “Colloquiums” tab on our website.
Seminars
These meetings, organized on a smaller scale than the colloquia, allow the Fyssen community to come together to debate and work collaboratively.
The seminars, whose themes are selected by a member of the Foundation’s Scientific Council, bring together around ten researchers for one to two days.
This type of initiative has revived the “Round Tables” that were dear to Mr. Fyssen and were organized in the years following the Foundation’s creation.
The themes, participants, and information relating to the “Seminars” can be consulted under the “Seminars” tab on our website.
